The Netherlands Central Bank Reviews the Issue of Technical Assistance for Georgia
On June 6-8, 2008 the International Monetary Fund/World Bank Constituency Meeting was held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The meeting was attended by the heads of central banks and the ministries of finance of 14 constituency member countries. Mr. Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Managing Director of IMF and Mr. Shigeo Katsu, Vice-President of the World Bank were among the participants of the meeting. At this international event Georgia was represented by Mr. David Amaglobeli, the Acting President of the National Bank of Georgia.
Following issues have been discussed during the meeting: world economy and IMF priorities, capital flows and policy options, credit crisis and lessons learned and others.
Within the framework of his visit Mr. David Amaglobeli met the authorities of The Netherlands central bank. According to the request of the National Bank of Georgia the Netherlands side will consider the issue of rendering technical assistance to Georgia in the field of macroeconomic modeling and research.
