The National Bank of Georgia Hosts the Representatives of the Central Bank of Suriname

For the purpose of familiarization with the reforms and innovative systems introduced in the National Bank of Georgia, the representatives of the Central Bank of Suriname visited the National Bank on September 14, 2012.

Mr. Jan Bolman, Advisor to the President of the Central Bank of Suriname and Mr. Delano Chan Chu – Chief Information Officer will receive information from Georgian colleagues on introduction of payment and securities systems. Mr. Keith Esca, the representative of the American Company “MONTRAN“ also participates in the meetings. 

The delegation visited Georgia on the recommendation of RTGS and CSD systems Vendor Company “MONTRAN” to familiarize with the reforms and systems, introduced recently by the NBG – these are advanced technology systems, which allow financial institutions to perform transfers quickly and safely. 

The guests have already met the representatives of the Payment Systems, Financial Markets, Information Technologies and Accounting and Reporting Departments and familiarized with the implemented and ongoing projects.

This is the fifth foreign bank, visiting the National Bank of Georgia as the successful example. Earlier the NBG hosted the central banks of Papua New Guinea, Ethiopia, Afghanistan and Armenia. Their visit was based on the recommendation of the World Bank.  

The Central Bank of Suriname was established in 1957 and has fulfilled an important role in the financial and monetary activities in Suriname ever since. The Central Bank is divided into three directorates: The Directorate of Banking Operations, The Directorate of Monetary and Economic Affairs and The Directorate of Supervision.
