The business visit of the President of the National Bank of Georgia continues in Poland

At the second day of his business visit in Poland, the President of the National Bank of Georgia Roman Gotsiridze visited the mint of this country, where he saw advanced technologies of minting coins. As the result of cooperation with the National Bank of Georgia, the mint of Poland has already minted memorable coin in connection with World Football Championship 2006. On the one side of the coin the Georgian national flag is depicted. At the mint of Poland they spoke about future cooperation with the National Bank of Georgia.
The President of the National Bank of Georgia met the representatives of the Ministry of Finance of Poland and National Health Fund. During the meeting they talked about ongoing reforms in the social sector of Poland and operation of tax and customs systems. The President of the National Bank of Georgia showed great interest in tax law of Poland.
"Concealment of incomes does not serve as a basis for criminal prosecution in Poland. Economic crimes in this country are punished by economic sanctions. Note that penalties for concealment of incomes are very high. Such wording was in the initial version of the Tax Code of Georgia, which was changed later on. I think that a person must not be criminally liable for concealment of incomes, when it does not apply to millions, - said the President of the National Bank of Georgia Roman Gotsiridze".
In laws of a number of countries within the EU, the severity of punishment depends on the extent of the incomes concealed. In Georgia there is GEL 25 thousand limit. If the income concealed exceeds this amount, a criminal case is instituted. Roman Gotsiridze called this event curious.
Later, Roman Gotsiridze met the managers of Bank Supervision, Currency and IT Departments of the National Bank of Poland. The National Bank of Poland will provide technical support to Georgia in this field.
At the meeting the President of the National Bank of Poland Leshek Baltserovich promised the Georgian colleague to develop internship programs for experts as soon as possible.
Tomorrow the President of the National Bank of Georgia Roman Gotsiridze is going to leave for Krakow to study the business of the branch of the National bank of Poland.
