Tender Committee to Select Design for New 50 tetri Coin

Three bids were submitted to the National Bank for the tender on the design of a new 50 tetri coin.According to the terms of the tender, the reverse of the coin intended for circulation will for the first time feature the state symbol of Georgia. A special committee meeting is expected to be held on June 8, where the submitted drafts will be reviewed and the winner will be selected. According to Vice-president Eka Galdava, the parameters for the coin will be developed and approved in the near future (size, weight, composition) and a tender will be announced to identify the relevant mint. The new 50 tetri coin will get into circulation from autumn. A tender for the new design of 50 tetri coin was announced on May 6 of the current year. The deadline for submission of the bids was June 5.
