Tbilisi Finance Summit Commences in Working Format
The Tbilisi Finance Summit will be officially opened tomorrow, October 23, at the Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet Theatre. This year marks the first edition of the summit, which is being held within the framework of the Silk Road Forum.
Today, the Tbilisi Finance Summit featured panel discussions, workshops, and B2B meetings.
The main topics of the panel discussions focused on the development of the investment ecosystem, the promotion of financial innovation and financial technologies, and the creation of an attractive market for global investors. Particular emphasis was placed on the introduction of stablecoins and the overall investment ecosystem.
Significant attention was also devoted to Georgia’s potential and its strategic role in the region.
Panelists and speakers discussed the opportunities for introducing artificial intelligence, tokenization, and quantum technologies in the financial sector.
The panel discussions and workshops brought together leading companies and representatives from the global fintech industry, including Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Founder of Paytm; Leiming Cheng, Vice President of Ant International; Derek Eisele, Founder of Eisele Capital; David Gurle, Founder of Hivenet and Policloud; Anu Phanse, Senior Officer at Coinbase; Marco Dal Lago, Vice President of Tether; Rachit Parekh, Partner at Accel; Mazurka Zheng, CEO of Bybit EU, the world’s second-largest crypto exchange; and others.
Ahead of the summit’s opening, Governor of the National Bank of Georgia Natia Turnava stated that Georgia is emerging as a hub for the digital and financial industries.
“For years, Georgia has positioned itself as a logistical and energy hub. Today, the country is evolving into a hub for digital and financial industries. This is evidenced by the fact that, for the first time, we are hosting a financial summit in Tbilisi in partnership with a company founded by the Central Bank of Singapore. As a result, Georgia will now appear on the global map as a destination for such gatherings and summits as a strong hub in the financial sector,” said Natia Turnava.
The Tbilisi Finance Summit, which hosts representatives from more than 50 countries and over 1,000 delegates, is part of the event series of Singapore’s Global Finance and Technology Network (GFTN). Consequently, Georgia is becoming an integral part of this network. The summit serves as a platform in advancing the country’s strategic goal to establish Georgia as a key link in the Middle Corridor connecting Europe and Asia.
