President of the National Bank of Georgia Roman Gotsiridze Met with John Tefft, the US Ambassador to Georgia

The President of the National Bank of Georgia Roman Gotsiridze received John Tefft, the US Ambassador to Georgia. The parties discussed the strategy of the banking system development in Georgia and the economic situation in general. The US Ambassador promised the President of the National Bank of Georgia to render a support in carrying out the planned reforms of the banking sector.  

„USA renders a great assistance to Georgia. It is very pleasing, that great attention is paid to the development of the banking sector for the last time. Good example for it is the project of small and medium-scale business support, which is being carried out by the support of the International Development Agency of USA. The above mentioned project touches the issues of the banking sector too“ - declared Roman Gotsiridze, the President of the National Bank of Georgia after his meeting with the US Ambassador.  

„Together with my friend, Roman Gotsiridze we discussed the issues of the condition of the banking system of Georgia and its further development. Banking sector plays a special role in Georgia’s economy, hence its strengthening should be considered as one of the priority trends“, - noted the US Ambassador to Georgia, John Tefft.
