Presentation of Ukrainian Coin Was Held in the National Bank of Georgia

Presentation of 2 Grivna jubilee coin dedicated to the 300th Anniversary of David Guramishvili, minted by the National Bank of Ukraine was held at the Money Museum of the National Bank of Georgia.
According to the Vice-President of the National Bank of Georgia, Ekaterine Galdava, there are good business relationships between the Central Banks of Georgia and Ukraine, the proof of which was the depiction of a profile of famous Georgian poet David Guramishvili on the national currency of Ukraine.
The obverse of the jubilee 2 Grivna coin dedicated to the 300th Anniversary of David Guramishvili depicts two national ornaments – Georgian and Ukrainian. There is a semicircular inscription - “Ukraine” and the State Emblem of Ukraine in the upper part of the coin. In the lower part you can see the inscription - “2 Grivna” and the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine.
The reverse of the coin features the profile of David Guramishvili against the hilly Georgian landscape. There is a temple on the peak of one of the mountains and a semicircular the inscription “David Guramishvili” in Ukrainian and Georgian to the left and right. In the lower part you can see the dates of poet’s birth and death: 1705-1792.
The issue limit of jubilee coins dedicated to the 300th Anniversary of David Guramishvili is 30 thousand. Coins are available for 5 Lari at the Money Museum of NBG.
The prominent Georgian Poet David Guramishvili settled in Mirgorod town in 1760 and lived there till the end of his life. He wrote his well-known work “Davitiani” in Ukraine.
