Presentation of a Joint Project of Georgian and German Experts was Held at the National Bank of Georgia

On February 27 of the current year, the presentation of a joint Georgian-German project:  “Tax Reform and Fiscal Responsibility: the Ways of Further Perfection of Financial and Social Policies in Georgia” was held at the National Bank of Georgia. Presentation was attended by the representatives of the National Bank of Georgia, different organizations of Germany functioning in Georgia (Embassy of Germany, Tbilisi Bureau of German Technical Cooperation and Caucasian Bureau of Friedrich Erbert Foundation), Ministry of Finance of Georgia, Budget office of the Parliament of Georgia and independent economic experts. 

The Acting President of the National Bank of Georgia, Mr. David Amaglobeli welcomed the participants of the presentation. He gave the positive assessment to the project of German and Georgian experts and exspressed the hope, that similar research projects will be carried out in Georgia more frequently. 
 

Professor Simon Gelashvili, the Coordinator of the project from Georgia, the Member of the Board of NBG, the Head of the Economic and Statistic Direction of the Tbilisi State University, presented the project to the audience. As he noted, the project will help the Ministry of Finance in the perfection of a budgeting process and the establishment of the effective tax payment system.
