The event focused on the post-pandemic situation in the countries, sustainable development, climate change, and green and sustainable finance.

Papuna Lezhava discussed climate change and sustainable finance with representatives of the University of Glasgow, the private sector, international organizations and other central banks. Vice Governor Lezhava pinpointed the recent actions taken by the National Bank of Georgia to develop a Sustainable Finance Network and briefed the participants on the National Bank's projects.

"The National Bank started developing a sustainable finance network in 2017. One of the recent actions in this project was publishing a sustainable finance report. The report to be published on an annual basis provides an overview of current trends, policies and plans for sustainable finance in Georgia. While continuing to work on the development of the sustainable finance network, the NBG is proceeding with the action plan laid out in the Sustainable Finance Guide. ” - Papuna Lezhava noted.

Importantly, the UN Climate Change Conference is organized every year and is attended by leaders from around the world.
