NBG Hosts Working Meeting of the New National Strategy for Financial Education

The National Bank of Georgia hosted a working meeting for stakeholders within the framework of the new National Strategy for Financial Education.


Summarizing the previous year’s activities, the NBG introduced the plans for 2023 to the attendees. Presentations were also made by the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Youth Agency. Representatives of the educational, public, civil, media and commercial sectors discussed their involvement in the 2023 action plan. The parties agreed at the meeting to develop an action plan of educational activities for 2023.


It should be noted that the interest of stakeholders has increased significantly under the new strategy.. The following partners will be involved in the 2023 projects: Ministry of Education and Science, Revenue Service, Insurance State Supervision Service, Deposit Insurance Agency, Pension Agency, Youth Agency, Society and Banks, Junior Achievement Georgia, Aflatoun International, German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation (DSIK), European Foundation for Southeast Europe (EFSE), Civic Education Teachers’ Forum, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Association (SMEDA), Banking Association of Georgia, Bank of Georgia, TBC Bank, Basisbank, Liberty Bank, Credo Bank, Pasha Bank, Microfinance Institutions: MBC, Swiss Capital, and Crystal, Ilia State University, Caucasus International University.


"The meeting focused on the new National Strategy for Financial Education and planning the projects for the current year. These meetings are a good opportunity to build connections between interested parties. NBG partners are given the opportunity to get to know each other's work and priorities better. This will support more effective management of the current projects", noted Lasha Gzirishvili, head of the Consumer Rights Protection and Financial Education Department.
