NBG First Vice-Governor Visits Tserovani Public School as Part of the Global Money Week Campaign
Ekaterine Mikabadze, First Vice-Governor of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), visited Public School No. 3 in the village of Tserovani, Mtskheta Municipality.
During her visit, Ekaterine Mikabadze held an open lesson for students focused on financial education and donated new educational materials to the school’s library.
The school visit is part of the Global Money Week campaign and marks the launch of the large-scale open lesson project, “Invite FinEdu to the Classroom.” The 2026 campaign, held under the official theme “Talk About Money,” places particular emphasis on the importance of open discussions and information sharing about financial matters among young people.
“Talking about finances should begin at an early age, starting from school. This is when the foundation for critical thinking is built, and responsible financial habits and attitudes are formed. Therefore, the knowledge and information gained during this period significantly shape the decisions we make in adulthood,” said First Vice-Governor Ekaterine Mikabadze.
The “Invite FinEdu to the Classroom” project, initiated by the NBG’s financial education platform FinEdu (www.finedu.gov.ge), is now in its tenth iteration. As in previous years, employees of the National Bank of Georgia and various commercial banks will visit schools across Tbilisi and other regions until May 15, delivering engaging and informative lessons to students in grades V–XII.
As part of the current phase, the initiative will be supported by employees from commercial banks, including Bank of Georgia, TBC Bank, TeraBank, Credo Bank, and MBC Microbank.
This year marks Georgia’s twelfth year of participation in Global Money Week. The campaign aims to build young people’s confidence in making financial decisions, encourage them to ask the right questions, and help foster sound financial habits through financial education.
Although Global Money Week was officially observed from March 16 to 22, the campaign in Georgia extends beyond the official dates, spanning two months and encompassing a wide range of educational and informational activities.
