National Bank’s Financial Education Portal Finedu Proudly Celebrates First Anniversary
It was exactly a year ago that the National Bank of Georgia’s Financial Education Portal - www.finedu.gov.ge was launched. Since then, this online resource has been providing users with reliable, unbiased information needed to make financial decisions.
Finedu has put together financial education resources, comprising textbooks, brochures, videos, blogs, financial calculators, developed with the involvement of the National Bank and partner organizations at various times. The portal guides any interested person through managing personal and family finance and relations with financial institutions.
The National Bank’s financial education efforts conducted remotely during the pandemic included: annual awareness campaigns, webinars and competitions. Finedu made it a tradition to celebrate the International Consumer Rights Day and the International Youth Day every year. Over 20 partner organizations involved in Finedu projects included financial institutions, universities, and public and non-government organizations. Finedu had the pleasure of having over 1,500 people participating in nearly 50 events held during the year, and more than 500 people who happily used the Finedu education materials.
Today, www.finedu.gov.ge has more than 60,000 unique users. Finedu is also featured on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube, reaching out to a larger audience across Georgia, including children, young people, teachers and entrepreneurs.
"The National Bank honors financial education as one of its top priorities. Finedu and partner organizations did a great job raising awareness in financial education issues during the year. I hope this process continues in the future, with a larger number of organizations working with Finedu to promote financial education. We understand it is a challenging and time-consuming process that requires considerable effort and parties involved. I congratulate Finedu on his 1st anniversary and thank our partners and users,” said Koba Gvenetadze, Governor of the National Bank of Georgia.
