National Bank of Georgia will share experience with Ethiopian Colleagues

1-7 September the National Bank of Georgia is hosting the delegation of Ethiopian National Bank. The visit aims at familiarizing with the process of implementation of payment systems in the NBG, and sharing the experience. “I have come to Georgia with the recommendation of the World Bank Consultant, Andrew Mason. We know that recently the NBG has enacted many state-of-art instruments, high-tech system management processes are being introduced and we’re going to share successful experience of Georgia” – stated Financial Sector Capacity Building Project Officer of the Ethiopian National Bank, Mathews Shamo.

Representatives of the Ethiopian delegation are visiting Georgia at the recommendation of World Bank Consultant, Andrew Mason. During one week the visitors will be meeting with heads of payment, financial, IT, monetary policy departments of NBG and members of the payment systems project team. They will see the progress of the projects on the spot. In addition, presentations and discussions are planned. Employees of the National Bank will share the experience of successful implementation of the project with Ethiopian colleagues and will give recommendations in the areas of project risks reduction, project management and organization, relations with suppliers, drafting of legislative framework. Expertise in the field of payment systems policy and management will be also shared.
