National Bank of Georgia's FINEDU Platform Completes First Phase of Regional Financial Education Trainer Program

19 November, 2024

FINEDU, the financial education platform of the National Bank of Georgia, has successfully completed the first stage of training trainers living in the regions.

On November 11-13, 2024, 18 representatives from Samtskhe-Javakheti, Kvemo Kartli, Shida Kartli, Kakheti, Imereti, Guria, Samegrelo and Racha-Lechkhumi underwent a specialized trainer training program. During the three-day intensive course, participants mastered essential trainer skills, teaching techniques, and methodologies for conducting effective training sessions. Through interactive sessions, they also gained comprehensive knowledge about specific financial education topics and learned strategies for integrating these concepts into their training delivery.

The next phase of the project will see potential trainers conducting demonstration sessions organized by FINEDU. Following a thorough training quality assessment, eight FINEDU trainers will be selected. These chosen trainers will be responsible for conducting up to 80 educational meetings for residents in their respective regions throughout 2025.

The selected trainers will complete their specialized financial education training in December 2024, with the regional public education programs set to conclude by the end of October 2025.

As part of its commitment to sustainable financial education, the Financial Education Platform of the National Bank of Georgia - FINEDU, in partnership with JSC Bank of Georgia, is implementing the FINEDU Trainer project to identify and train paid financial education trainers.

The project was open to all adult residents of the regions with formal or informal teaching experience. From a pool of 140 interested candidates, approximately 20 participants advanced to the first stage. The selection process particularly favored candidates from border and mountainous regions, ensuring broad geographical representation.
