National Bank of Georgia is Launching Women's Empowerment Program

16 October, 2023

Financial education is one of the key priorities of the NBG. For this purpose, a number of important steps have been taken in the past years in the framework of the National Strategy of Financial Education. Starting from 2023, several new target segments were defined by the Strategy document. These include women.

Studies prove that women show lesser results than men in the component of financial knowledge. Also, the indicators of their economic activity and remuneration are different.

International practice shows that financial education activities support better representation of women's financial and economic capacities and increase their self-confidence.

In response to this challenge, the National Bank of Georgia is launching a new educational program for women. Cognitive activities, campaigns, contests, creation and distribution of online and printed educational materials are planned as part of the program.
