National Bank of Georgia Delegation Visits Central Banks of Germany and Austria

To explore modern cash management standards and exchange expertise with their German and Austrian counterparts, a delegation from the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) conducted a working visit to the Deutsche Bundesbank and the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (Austrian National Bank).

The meetings were attended by NBG Vice Governor Ekaterine Galdava and Board Members Teimuraz Khomeriki and Nana Keinishvili, alongside representatives from the Cash Operations and Currency Circulation Department.

Discussions centered on key issues related to cash circulation within central banks. Particular emphasis was placed on the processes of banknote production and destruction, as well as cash processing and recirculation.

Furthermore, the delegation visited the cash center of the Austrian National Bank to directly observe their practical applications of cash processing and management.

These working meetings aimed to facilitate the sharing of international best practices and to foster closer cooperation in the domain of cash management.
