Natia Turnava Meets with the President of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC)

On the margins of the symposium held in Shanghai, Natia Turnava, Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, met with Liao Lin, President of the world's largest bank the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC).

During the meeting, the parties discussed the existing cooperation between the National Bank of Georgia and ICBC, as well as prospects for its further development. Particular attention was paid to deepening cooperation in trading in Chinese securities and investing in the Chinese bond market, along with current trends and future prospects in international financial markets.

ICBC is the largest bank in both China and the world, with total assets of approximately USD 7.6 trillion. The bank operates in 49 countries and is one of the leading financial institutions in the global banking sector.

ICBC is also actively engaged in investment banking services, particularly in the primary and secondary markets for sovereign bonds of emerging economies.

It is noteworthy that ICBC has made a significant contribution to the issuance of Georgia’s sovereign Eurobonds, as well as to the syndication of treasury securities and participation in regular auctions.
