Natia Turnava Meets with New US Ambassador Robin L. Dunnigan
Natia Turnava, Acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, met with Robin L. Dunnigan, the new US Ambassador to Georgia.
The introductory meeting highlighted the importance of the current strategic partnership between the two countries and prospects for enhanced cooperation. It was noted that the United States of America has always been and remains the most important strategic partner to Georgia.
Natia Turnava introduced the new US Ambassador to the current situation and ongoing projects in the Georgian financial sector. The meeting also focused on the renewal of the International Monetary Fund program in the shortest period.
"We talked about the close relations and cooperation between the National Bank of Georgia, the US Embassy and the US Agency for International Development (USAID). The National Bank of Georgia works closely with USAID in various areas, and I would like to express my gratitude to the US government, the US Embassy and the American people for years of support for the ongoing reforms in Georgia. We agreed with the US Ambassador to continue cooperation and coordinated effort in the future," noted Natia Turnava.
