Natia Turnava Meets with Gareth Ward, the New UK Ambassador

Natia Turnava, Acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, held an introductory meeting with Gareth Ward, the newly appointed Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Georgia.


During the meeting, both parties highlighted the strong cooperation between the National Bank of Georgia and the Bank of England. Discussions centered on enhancing future collaboration, particularly in areas within the purview of central banks, such as the development of financial technologies and information exchange.


Turnava emphasized that the United Kingdom remains a key partner for Georgia, and strengthening ties with it is a priority both for the country and the National Bank of Georgia.


Following the meeting, Turnava remarked on the productive and insightful discussions, during which she briefed Ambassador Ward on the NBG's proactive efforts in monetary policy, anti-money laundering initiatives, and the regulation of virtual asset service providers.
