Natia Turnava Meets with Commercial Bank Representatives

Natia Turnava, Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, took part in a working meeting organized by the Georgian Bankers’ Association, which brought together representatives from commercial banks.


The meeting focused on key issues currently facing the banking sector, including access to finance, regulatory developments, and strategic plans for the future. Participants discussed the ongoing development of open banking, reviewed relevant regulations and clarifications, and addressed topics related to banking competition and the implications of the Law on Payment System and Payment Services. Consumer rights protection was also highlighted as a key area of discussion.


Governor Turnava emphasized the importance of holding regular meetings with stakeholders from the banking and financial sectors. She noted that such dialogue ultimately helps to improve access to finance for customers and supports broader economic development.

 

In addition to commercial banks, the meeting was attended by NBG Vice Governors Ekaterine Galdava and Nino Jeladze, as well as heads and deputy heads of various departments within the National Bank of Georgia.
