
Natia Turnava Elected Chair of the Group of Banking Supervisors from Central and Eastern Europe (BSCEE) for 2027
The Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, Natia Turnava, has been elected Chair of the Group of Banking Supervisors from Central and Eastern Europe (BSCEE) for 2027. She was unanimously elected to the position during the Group’s 38th Annual Conference, held in Moldova from May 27 to 30, 2026.
Natia Turnava will officially assume the BSCEE Chairmanship for the period from December 16, 2026, to December 15, 2027.
Notably, the National Bank of Georgia will host the 39th Annual BSCEE Conference next year for the third time, underscoring Georgia’s active engagement and strong standing within the organization.
The primary objective of BSCEE is to strengthen cooperation among member countries in the field of banking supervision, facilitate the exchange of knowledge and best practices, and promote financial stability across the region.
The National Bank of Georgia joined BSCEE in 2013. The Group brings together 25 banking supervisory authorities from 24 countries, including Austria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Türkiye, Armenia, Hungary, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Kazakhstan, and others.
In accordance with BSCEE’s rules, the Chairmanship rotates annually among member states. Georgia has previously held the position twice, in 2018 and 2022.
