Starting from the January 2012 National Bank of Georgia extended money transfers statistics by adding data for Microfinance Organizations. The updated data are available on our web-site from January 2010.

In January 2012, the volume of money transfers from abroad constituted 84.4 million USD (or 140.9 million GEL), which is 10.0 million USD (or 16.7 million GEL), or 13.4 percent more than the same amount for January 2011.
 


88.8 percent of total money transfers from abroad fall on those 8 big donor countries, from which the volume of such transfers exceeded 1 million USD in January. In January 2011 the share of these 8 countries constituted 88.5 percent of the total volume of money transfers.

In January 2012, 6.8 million USD (or 11.4 million GEL) were transferred from Georgia instead of 9.2 million USD (or 16.6 million GEL) in January 2011.
