In January 2014, the volume of money transfers from abroad constituted 98.7 million USD (173.6 million GEL), which is 4.6 million USD (8.0 million GEL), or 4.9 percent more than the amount in January 2013.



93.2 percent of the total money transfers from abroad came from 12 big donor countries, with the volume of transfers from of these countries each exceeding 1 million USD in January 2014. In January 2013 the share of these 12 countries constituted 94.0 percent of the total volume of money transfers.

In January 2014, 12.2 million USD (or 21.5 million GEL) was transferred from Georgia, as compared to 9.5 million USD (or 15.7 million GEL) in January 2013.
