Money Transfers in December
National Bank of Georgia extended money transfers statistics by adding data for Microfinance Organizations. The updated data are available on our web-site from January 2010.
In December 2011, the volume of money transfers from abroad constituted 124.9 million USD (or 207.4 million GEL), which is 16.3 million USD (or 27.1 million GEL), or 15.1 percent more than the same amount for December 2010.
91.1 percent of total money transfers from abroad fall on those 11 big donor countries, from which the volume of such transfers exceeded 1 million USD in December. In December 2010 the share of these 11 countries constituted 92.2 percent of the total volume of money transfers.

In December 2011, 9.2 million USD (or 15.3 million GEL) were transferred from Georgia instead of 12.0 million USD (or 21.2 million GEL) in December 2010.
