Money Transfers in August

In August 2010 the volume of money transfers from abroad constituted 81.6 million USD, which is 6.6 million USD or 8.8 percent more than the same amount for August 2009. During this period the volume of remittances significantly grew for Russia (by 8.8 million), Turkey (by 0.7 million), and Germany (by 0.5 million),  as well as for several other countries.


91.5 percent of total money transfers from abroad fall on those 9 big donor countries, from which the volume of such transfers exceeded 1 million USD in August. In August 2009 the share of these 9 countries constituted 90.0 percent of the total volume of money transfers.

In August 2010 6.3 million USD were transferred from Georgia, instead of 5.6 million USD in August 2009.
