International Auditing Company Conducted a Workshop at the National Bank of Georgia
19 October, 2005
International auditing company “Deloitte & Touche Tohmatsu” conducted a workshop on “Modifications in International Auditing Standards” at the National Bank of Georgia.
Auditing companies operating in Georgia, Audit Council of Georgia, Representative Offices of the National Bank of Georgia and commercial banks took part in this workshop.
The following was discussed at the workshop: main banking risks in procedural matters, changes in international financial reporting standards.
The workshop participants said that it is vitally important that Management and an auditor of a company consider fraud and omissions’ risks in International Auditing Standards. False financial reporting drawn up by auditors is frequently conditioned by some purposeful omissions and inaccuracy during audit of accounting books.
Special attention was focused on importance of professional relationship between the Management of the audited company and an auditor company. The Management must furnish an auditor with full information on financial activity on timely basis. The auditor, in his part, must estimate promptly and respond to risks incurred to the company.
