In 2005 the banking sector in Georgia developed at an unprecedented speed. The proof of it is 2005 statistic data reflecting the banking sector activities:   Total Assets of Commercial Banks of Georgia - increased by 50% (in 2005 it equaled 2,6 billion Lari, the same indicator constituted 1,7 billion Lari in 2004);   Equity Capital – increased by 28,7% (in 2005 it equaled 480 million Lari, the same indicator constituted 373 million Lari in 2004);   Net Profits - increased by 124,7% (in 2005 it equaled 62 million Lari, the same indicator constituted 28 million Lari in 2004);   Return on assets - increased by 29,2% (in 2005 it equaled 3,1%, the same indicator constituted 2,4% in 2004);   Return on equity - increased by 49% (in 2005 it equaled 15%, the same indicator constituted 10% in 2004);   Total Loans - total volume increased by 83,2% (in 2005 it equaled 1,7 billion Lari, the same indicator constituted 0,9 billion Lari in 2004);   Loans in National Currency - increased by 200% (in 2005 it equaled 407 million Lari, the same indicator constituted 136 million Lari in 2004);   Loans in Foreign Currency - increased by 66,7% (in 2005 it equaled 742 million USD, the same indicator constituted 445 million USD in 2004);   Total Deposits - increased by 31% (in 2005 it equaled 1.2 billion Lari, the same indicator constituted 896 million Lari in 2004);   Deposits in National Currency - increased by 45% (in 2005 it equaled 334 million Lari, the same indicator constituted 230 million Lari in 2004);   Deposits in Foreign Currency- increased by 29% (in 2005 it equaled 469 million USD, the same indicator constituted 365 million USD in 2004);   Dolarization of Deposits – decreased by 3,3% (in 2005 it constituted 71%, in 2004 the same indicator equaled 74,3%);   International Foreign Exchange Reserves - increased by 23,9% (in 2005 it equaled 474,8 million USD, the same indicator constituted 382,8 million USD in 2004);   Average Lari Exchange Rate against USD – appreciated by 5,4% (in 2005 it equaled 1,8126 Lari, the same indicator constituted 1,9161 Lari in 2004);   From 7.5% in 2004 inflation indicator decreased to 6,2% in 2005.
