Total volume of the non-bank deposits in the country’s banking sector (including term deposits and current accounts of non-financial and households sectors, including payable interest) decreased by 3.0 percent or 155.5 million GEL compared with the November 1, 2011, and reached 5.3 billion GEL by December 1, 2011. In November, compared to the previous month, the volume of transferable deposits of non-financial and households’ sectors decreased by 119.1 million GEL (5.8 percent) and term deposits of same sectors decreased by 37.1 million GEL (1.2 percent).

The dollarization ratio of deposits constituted 66.3 percent by December 1, 2011. Compared with the November 1, 2011 it decreased by 0.6 percentage points.

The annual average weighted interest rate on term deposits constituted 8.8 percent. In particular, the interest rate for national currency denominated deposits was 12.0 percent and the interest rate for foreign currency denominated deposits 8.4 percent.

The share of US dollar in the total volume of foreign currency denominated deposits equals to 74.2 percent and the share of Euro equals to 20.6 percent.
