Central Bank of Cambodia Delegation Visits National Bank of Georgia During ADB Annual Meetings
During the 57th annual meetings of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), a delegation from the National Bank of Cambodia visited the National Bank of Georgia. Following their meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the two central banks.
The memorandum, signed by Natia Turnava, Acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, and Serey Chea, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, aims to establish a framework for enhanced cooperation. It focuses on deepening collaboration within the core functions and mandates of the central banks.
Under this agreement, the parties will engage in regular technical cooperation at an expert level. They will exchange insights on various central banking areas, including the development of monetary policy instruments, interest rate corridor determination, liquidity forecasting, experiences in de-dollarization, payment systems, and digital innovations in payment services. The cooperation will involve discussions, joint seminars, and research in mutually agreed-upon areas.
Additionally, the memorandum outlines plans for the exchange of data and information between the two central banks regarding economic and financial developments, as well as the legal frameworks in their respective jurisdictions.
