Another Letter to Sergey Ignatyev on Illegal Activities of the Russian Banks in Abkhazia

Roman Gotsiridze, president of the National Bank of Georgia, sent a letter to Sergey Ignatyev, chairman of the Central Bank of Russia to thank his colleague for organizing the Central Bank Governor Meeting in St. Petersburg. President Gotsiridze also provided additional materials about the illegal activities of the Russian banks in Abkhazia, and reiterated his request for feedback. According to the media, the letter says that several days ago, after negotiating with the Adler pension fund manager, the prime minister of the self-announced republic of Abkhazia Ankvab, director of Sochi branch of Moscow Bank Bayramov, head of the cash service of the bank Reylian, agreed to pay Russian pensions through the banks operating in Abkhazia.President Gotsiridze advised Ignatyev that the Russian banks act according to the international law. “Let me stress that the Georgian authorities are especially interested in assisting the socially insecure population of Abkhazia, but this should be done in accordance with the international banking regulations”, says the letter. The National Bank of Georgia expressed readiness for the social protection of the population of Abkhazia, the integral part of the country. “Especially as we have good experience in issuing salaries to the Russian military servicemen”, says the letter.
