The National Bank of Georgia publishes a draft Environmental and Social Commitment Plan for public consultation
In order to strengthen the country’s financial resilience and, where necessary, enhance access to financing for resolution purposes, the National Bank of Georgia, in cooperation with the World Bank, is working on a project related to the financing of the bank resolution process.
The project envisages the possibility of allocating potential contingent financing from the World Bank to the Resolution Fund. The objective of the project is to further develop the resolution framework and its operational environment.
In the context of the above-mentioned work, the National Bank of Georgia hereby publishes for public consultation the draft Environmental and Social Commitment Plan (ESCP) related to the financing project. The purpose of this document is to ensure that the financing project is implemented in accordance with the World Bank’s Environmental and Social Standards and this Environmental and Social Commitment Plan. It should be noted that the original version of the project document was prepared in English and has been translated into Georgian.
Comments and questions may be submitted, in accordance with the attached template, by email to resolution@nbg.gov.ge no later than 8 April 2026. Any interested party may submit comments. Please note that the National Bank of Georgia will consider and respond only to substantiated comments and opinions submitted using the specified template. Following the completion of the consultation process, the draft document may be subject to editorial revisions and/or amendments based on the feedback received during the consultation.
