    Compensation: 1200 GEL per month (Gross).

    Internship Duration: 3 Months

     

    About the internship: National Bank of Georgia’s Financial and Supervisory Technology Development Department invites students to participate in the “Financial Innovation Competition”;

    The goal of the competition is to identify and discover young innovators. 

    During the internship, interns will have an opportunity to:

    • Gain insight into the activities of the National Bank of Georgia within the scope of Financial and Supervisory Technology Development;
    • Participate, within their competence, in decision-making processes on various topics;
    • Work closely on their selected research topic;
    • Review relevant documentation and use appropriate technological and informational resources necessary to complete tasks assigned by the mentor;
    • Attend and participate in events organized by the National Bank of Georgia, gain practical experience relevant to the department’s field of work.

     

     

    Eligibility for the internship role:

    Final-year Bachelor’s degree student, or Master’s degree student.

     

     

     

     

    Stages of the intern recruitment process:

    First stage:

    • Evaluation of applications and assessment of compliance with formal requirements;

    Second Stage:

    • Written assignment, evaluation conducted by the National Bank of Georgia.

     

    Written assignment fully:

    What should be the topic of assignment? 

    For the assignment, candidates must choose one of the following topics:

    1. Blockchain and Tokenization - Opportunities for developing tokenized financial products (including tax and investment related products) and potential challenges in the Georgian or Regional market. Assignment must cover scenarios for using the blockchain technology in the financial sector, and provide an overview of relevant use cases.
    2. Development of Open Finance – Opportunities and challenges of Open Finance development in the Georgian market, along with its potential impact on competition and country’s real economic growth.
    3. Artificial Intelligence (AI) – Opportunities and challenges of AI usage in the financial sector, including RegTech and SupTech perspectives. 

    Students are free to choose one of the listed topics.

    Only one candidate will be selected per topic (Three winners in total)

     

    Stages of the written assignment

    1. Submission of the research topic Abstract/Resume

    In order to complete the given assignment, interested candidates must submit an Abstract/Resume of their chosen topic, demonstrating a strong understanding of the subject; The Abstract/Resume must be structured, clearly stating the goal of the research and action plan with appropriate steps.

    The Abstract/Resume must be Max. 1 page, written in Georgian or English language.

    Abstract/Resume must be sent to: Internship@nbg.gov.ge.

    In the subject line, candidate must indicate “Financial Innovation Competition”; The submitted file must be named using the candidate’s first and last name. In the body of the email, candidates must indicate their full name and contact phone number.   

    The best abstracts will be selected, and shortlisted candidates will proceed to the next stage: Interview/Presentation.

     

    Second Stage:

    • Interview with the candidates, who successfully completed the stage of the written assignment

    Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview and must present their research paper based on the submitted Abstract/Resume. The document must not exceed 20-30 pages and must be written in Georgian or English

    Abstract/Resume must be sent no later than June 30, 2026, to: Internship@nbg.gov.ge.

    Evaluation criteria’s:

    • Relevance of the topic;
    • Innovativeness of the research methods;
    • Theoretical and methodological soundness;
    • Logical structure, argumentation, and interpretation;
    • Alignment between research assumptions, objectives, and outcomes;
    • Clear, well-structured, academic writing;
    • Plagiarism-free content (all sources must be properly cited

     

     

     

    Candidate, who is recruited as an intern for more than 3 months, undergoes the interview process with the appropriate authorized person and submits questionnaire according to “the Rule on the Examination of Additional Information Concerning Employees and Prospective Employees of the National Bank of Georgia.”
