"The digital GEL  project will run in test mode before the end of the year. The technology will most likely be blockchain-based . Now we are discussing how to define the role of private companies and the National Bank. We want the project to be commercial so that all parties are interested in developing the project and taking digital currency to the next level," Papuna Lezhava, Vice Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, stated when speaking on the Business Formula show.
