
Wrap-Up Meeting with the IMF Mission Held at the NBG
Acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), Natia Turnava, and Minister of Finance, Lasha Khutsishvili, held a wrap-up meeting with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission, led by Alejandro Hajdenberg.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Vakhtang Tsintsadze, as well as Deputy Ministers of Finance, Ekaterine Guntsadze and Giorgi Kakauridze.
Held within the framework of the IMF’s annual visit, the meeting aimed to assess Georgia’s macroeconomic outlook and monitor the country’s financial and economic developments.
Discussions focused on the country’s monetary and fiscal policies, along with measures taken to ensure macroeconomic and financial stability. The parties reviewed and reached agreements on macroeconomic and fiscal forecasts.
The NBG reaffirmed its commitment to the existing monetary policy framework, emphasizing its continued efforts to maintain price stability.
The meeting also explored opportunities for further cooperation under the Article IV program. Participants positively assessed the ongoing technical assistance programs at the NBG, supported by the IMF, and outlined priority areas for future collaboration.
From the Georgian side, the meeting was also attended by NBG Vice-Governors Ekaterine Mikabadze and Ekaterine Galdava.
