Vice Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, Nino Jeladze, together with Giorgi Goguadze, Head of the Department for Supervision of Payment Service Providers and Registration of Virtual Asset Service Providers, took part in the Singapore FinTech Festival.

The Singapore FinTech Festival 2025 focused on reviewing transformative developments in the global financial ecosystem and discussing the formation of future financial architecture. During the panel discussions, participants examined academic research and the perspectives of policymakers.

Within the framework of the festival, members of the NBG delegation held meetings with representatives of various central banks and supervisory authorities, including Germany’s Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), the Spanish National Securities Market Commission, the Central Bank of Oman, the British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC) of Canada, the Czech regulatory sandbox, and others.

“Meetings with regulators from different countries aim to exchange experience and bring Georgia’s regulatory framework closer to best international practices, as well as to analyze the challenges in the field of virtual assets together with supervisory colleagues from various jurisdictions, in order to foster the development of modern technologies and responsible innovation,” noted Nino Jeladze.

During the festival, Nino Jeladze also met with Leiming Chen, Senior Vice President of Ant International, one of the world’s leading fintech companies.

Ant International specializes in cross-border and QR-code payments and operates global payment platforms such as Alipay+, along with a digital wallet ecosystem across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America.

At the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in enhancing interoperability of payment systems and advancing QR-code-based payment solutions.

The Singapore FinTech Festival is held annually and is the largest fintech exhibition in the world. It serves as an international platform where wide-ranging discussions lay the foundation for defining the strategic directions of the financial and monetary systems for the coming decade.
