Within the framework of a new program of the National Bank of Georgia, the first three working studies have been published at NBG official website aiming at the development of the economic research, increasing its quality and bringing it closer to international standards.

These studies are:

• "Inflation Targeting in Georgia: Are we There Yet?" - G. Bakradze, A. Billemeier
• "Monetary Transmission Mechanism in Georgia: Analysing Pass-Through of different Channels" - Authors: V. Rukhadze, T. Moerschen
• "Analysis of Tbilisi's Real Estate Boom" - Author: B. Samkharadze.

The purpose of the program of economic research, carried out under the aegis of the National Bank of Georgia is to facilitate the research of the issues, the results of which can be applied during the formation of a monetary policy.

David Amaglobeli, the Acting President of the National Bank of Georgia declared: "Due to the mentioned program we shall obtain the studies of a high quality, in which the modern research methods will be used. The aim of the program is to popularize the high quality research. Though the economic research is permanently carried out at NBG, it is necessary to fill it up with studies of independent researches and this particular program provides us with such an opportunity. Through these studies we receive the important analytical and empirical information, which can be used during the elaboration of a monetary policy."

One of the most important results of the economic research program is the creation of series of NBG research studies (working papers) - NBG research edition in English language. The full English versions of the first three studies as well as Georgian synopses of these studies have already been placed at NBG official website.
