The President of the National Bank of Georgia Visited the Association for the Protection of Diabetic Children.

Mr. Roman Gotsiridze, the President of the National Bank of Georgia, visited the Association for the Protection of Diabetic Children, where about 1800 children and adults are registered. The budget provides financing of their treatment. Mr. Koba Amirkhanashvili, the head of the association, introduced the activity of the association to Mr. Roman Gotsiridze.
“The assistance program for diabetic children that is financed by the state budget is of vital importance. This program is perceived as the serious moral and physical support by thousands of patients and the members of their families. However, the public finances for fundamental understanding of the problem and implementing appropriate decisions are poor. The efficiency of the program for assisting the people with diabetes will be significantly increased, if general public in Georgia shows interest in it. First of all, I mean the private sector on the charity of which much will depend,” - said the President of the National Bank of Georgia.
The Association for the Protection of Diabetic Children has existed since 1991. It has branches in Kutaisi and Batumi. At present about 900 children and adults are involved in the state program. under the aegis of the association
