On June 15, the President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili opened the Cash Center of the National Bank of Georgia in Tbilisi. Equipped with the modern safety technologies in compliance with the Eurostandards a new cash center will be implementing the cash and other values management through the high technological programs which enables to control a cash circulation over the whole territory of country through the entire system. Furthermore, the process of withdrawal of worn-out and counterfeit money from the circulation will be improved and accomplished to the utmost. Labour conditions of the staff involved in cash operations will completely change and will be adjusted in accordance with the international standards.

"Georgia is the first country in CIS zone where was built a cash center equipped with the modern technologies. We move forward to make Georgia the financial center of the region. We have implemented the number of reforms in order to achieve our goals. High technological infrastructure is necessary for the success of the reforms. On the one hand this will simplify performance of the financial sector and on the other hand, it will give highest possible security. The new cash center's cash vaults, implemented control and safety systems completely meet the international standards. This means that interested investor or financial institution that conducts its business not only locally but also in other countries of the region, will be able to use service provided by the National Bank of Georgia and then continue necessary cash operations mildly, without any risks" - stated Mr. Kadagidze, Governor of the NBG.

It is notable that the authors of the Cash Center of the National Bank of Georgia are Georgian architects. Construction work has been lasting for two years and Cash Center represents totally different architectural building.

On the opening ceremony, President Saakashvili awarded employees of the Cash Center of the NBG with the Orders of Honour for conscientious implementation of their duties and for high professionalism.
