The National Bank of Georgia Issued a Banking License to Azerbaijani Bank “Pasha Bank”

Georgian banking market has been joined by new bank “Pasha Bank Georgia. The National Bank of Georgia issued a banking license to the mentioned bank on January 17, 2013.

Pasha Bank is one of the largest private banks in Azerbaijan and generally it aims at corporate customers. Its total assets equaled to 810 million USD according to the data of the third quarter of 2012. The paid-in capital for the same period equaled to 200 million USD and in terms of this figure the Bank was the second largest in Azerbaijan banking system. 

Currently the Georgian banking sector is represented by 20 banks, including two Azerbaijani Banks: “International Bank of Azerbaijan – Georgia” and “Transcaucasus Development Bank, Tbilisi Branch”.
