The National Bank of Georgia is Hosting the Representatives of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan

For the purpose of familiarization with the reforms introduced in the National Bank of Georgia and sharing the experience, the representatives of the Central Bank of Republic of Azerbaijan visited the National Bank following the visit of Moldavian colleagues. Delegation was headed by Mr. Khagani Abdullayev, Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

The first meeting was held with Mr. Giorgi Kadagidze, Governor of the NBG.

The main purpose of the visit was to familiarize with the payment systems introduced recently by the NBG – these are advanced technology systems, which allow financial institutions to perform transfers quickly and safely. 

Azerbaijani bankers had the meetings with Heads of Payment Systems, Banking Supervision and Statistics and Macroeconomics Departments and familiarized with the implemented and on-going projects. They saw also the new cash center equipped with modern technologies, which was opened in June, 2012.

Representatives of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan thanked the Georgian colleagues for a warm welcome and giving the opportunity to share the experience that the Central Bank of the Country introduces to the representatives of Central Banks of the different countries on the recommendation of the World Bank.
