01 May, 2023

The National Bank of Georgia, as a member of the Global Financial Innovation Network (GFIN), participates in the GFIN TechSprint hosted on the FCA's (Financial Conduct Authority) digital sandbox.

The GFIN is the international network of financial regulators and related organizations committed to supporting financial innovation in the best interests of consumers.

In cooperation with the National Bank of Georgia, GFIN, together with FinTech companies from other member countries, invites Georgian FinTech companies to participate in the GFIN TechSprint. Applications open on April 17 and close on  May 21.

A virtual TechSprint (Digital Sandbox) takes place from April 2023 to September 2023 and aims to address a GFIN priority on ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and sustainable finance (considering social and environmental factors when investing) by: Developing a tool or solution that could help regulators more effectively tackle or mitigate the risks of ‘Greenwashing’ (marketing that portrays an organization’s products, activities or policies as producing positive environmental or social outcomes, or avoiding environmental or social harm, when this is not the case) in financial services.
