The Government of Georgia and the National Bank of Georgia Received a Letter from the Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund

The Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance of Georgia and the President of the National Bank of Georgia Roman Gotsiridze received a letter from the IMF. The author of the letter is Ierun Kremers, the Executive Director of the abovementioned financial organization. He states with pleasure that the Executive Board of the IMF has approved the fiscal and monetary policies conducted by the Government of Georgia and the National Bank of Georgia as well as the fact of fulfillment of the parameters under “Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility” (PRFG) program agreed with the IMF. The Executive Director congratulated the Government of Georgia and the NBG on this success.
The letter of the Executive Director of the IMF also includes the recommendations on toughening fiscal and monetary policies for the year of 2007.
