The Europe Director of The Banker Handed Giorgi Kadagidze The Award The Central Banker of The Year 2014 For Europe

On May 13, within the framework of the EBRD Annual Meeting, Stefanie Linhardt, Europe Editor of the world’s leading financial magazine The Banker handed the Governor of the National Bank of Georgia the award - The Central Banker of the Year 2014 for Europe.

World's leading financial magazine The Banker, owned by Financial Times Group, named Giorgi Kadagidze, Governor of National Bank of Georgia as the Central Banker of the year 2014 for Europe.

Governor of the National Bank of Georgia thanked Stefanie Linhardt for visiting the National Bank and for award handover.

The recognition of the National Bank by such popular and prestigious publication as it is The Banker, is the significant success for the country. It is obvious that the Georgian citizens have many social problems today and they expect us to solve these problems instead of our awards and congratulations. However it must be noted that the solution to a problem is exactly in strong institutions where the officials with responsibility make decisions favourable to the country and to the citizen as well. I am proud of the team of the National Bank of Georgia. I congratulate you once again”, - the Governor of the NBG stated.

Last year, Miroslav Singer, Governor of Czech National Bank was named the Central Banker of the Year by The Banker.
