The Combined Team of the National Bank of Georgia in Rafting Reached the Final Stage of the Georgian Open Championship

The combined team of the National Bank of Georgia proved to be among the best in the rafting championship held in Borjomi on September 17 - 18. It was for the first time that  such  Georgian open championship in rafting was held this year. 20 teams took part in the championship.     The mentioned initiative was approved by Mr. George Glonti, the Vice-President of the National Bank of Georgia and the captain of the team.  “There was enthusiasm shown on the part of the organizers, whereas on our part - excitement and sport interest. The National Bank intends to participate in similar events in the future too. It is desirable to develop this kind of sport as well in terms of promoting the development of tourism in Georgia “, - noted Mr. George Glonti.   Organizers of the Georgian open championship in rafting were adventure club “Jomardi”, the club “Georgian Jomardelebi” and Tbilisi Mountain, Adventures and Extreme Film Festival “Niamori”.   Jomardoba   (rafting) is one of the popular kinds of extreme sports in the world. The followers of this kind of sport go down the river by inflatable boats.  Crews of 1 to 12 people can take part in the competition, in which boats of different type and size  are used.
