In June of the current year the inflow of money transfers from foreign countries to Georgia was still continuing and its volume reached 84.4 million USD, which is by 20.9 million USD (32.9 percent) more than the volume of money transfers for the same month of the last year. Traditionally, the biggest share of money transfers falls to Russia - 53.5 million USD, i.e. 63.4 percent of the total amount. Next come Ukraine (6.8 million USD, i.e. 8.1 percent) and Greece (3.8 million USD, i.e. 4.5 percent).

According to the statistical data of June of the current year, the volume of money transfers from Italy to Georgia has increased significantly and reached 3.7 million USD (instead of 0.2 million USD in June of 2007) and from Armenia - 2.4 million USD (i.e. 12 times more, accordingly).

According to money transfers statistics, 89.3 percent of total money transfers come to the big seven donor countries (see the table)

It is notable, that in June of the current year 7.6 million USD has been sent from Georgia to abroad, i.e. by 2.2 million USD (22.6 percent) lower than in June of the year of 2007. The volume of money transfers has decreased from Georgia to Russia by 1.6 million USD and constituted 3.5 USD.

Most popular among the fast money transfers system for sending money to Georgia are: Anelic (18.4 percent of total amount), Contact (18.0 percent), Western Union (17.5 percent), Unistream (16.4 percent), Leader (5.5 percent), Money Gram (2.5 percent).

To money transfer from Georgia to abroad most popular way is Western Union - 47.3 percent of total transfers to the other countries. Next come Anelik (20.3 percent), Intel Express (12.4 percent), Unistream (5.7 percent), Leader (5.0 percent) and Contact (3.9 percent).
