Regular meeting of the President of the National Bank of Georgia with the governors of commercial banks was held at the National Bank of Georgia. The issues of further development of the banking system and its stability were discussed during this meeting. All the above-mentioned trends are reflected in a four-year (2006-2009) development strategy of the banking system. This document is being prepared at the National Bank of Georgia and will be submitted to the general audience in the nearest future.   During this meeting Vakhtang Butskhrikidze, the President of “TBC” Bank made a presentation of a comparative analysis of the banking systems of the countries in transition and the banking system of Georgia. Also, the possibility of further liberalization of Georgia’s banking market was discussed. During his discussions with the participants of the meeting the President of the National Bank of Georgia noted, that the initiatives aimed at market liberalization, would be reflected in a banking system development strategy, which will be presented to the representatives of the banking system in the nearest future.
