On February 27 of the current year the presentation of a joint research project elaborated by the Georgian and German experts will be held at the National Bank of Georgia. The subject of the project is the “Tax Reform and Fiscal Responsibility: the Ways of Further Perfection of Financial and Social Policies in Georgia”. Different organizations of Germany functioning in Tbilisi will take part in this event. These are: Embassy of Germany, Tbilisi  office of GTZ, the Caucasian Bureau of Friedrich Ebert Fundation and others.

 

Research project began in 2005 and Georgian and German are taking part in it. The mentioned research project was fully financed by the German side (Volkswagen Fund). The coordinator of the project in Georgia was Mr. Simon Gelashvili, the Member of the Board of NBG.

 

The project embraces the wide spectrum of problems of theoretical and practical character, such as: Macroeconomic situation, financial policy, taxes and tax code, state budget, modeling and forecasting of the financial equilibrium and others.
