New cash center of National Bank of Georgia will be built in Tbilisi
Today, the President of NBG Giorgi Kadagidze and Mayor of Tbilisi Gigi Ugulava have opened the construction of NBG’s new Cash Centre.
High-tech programs of centralized control and cash and other valuables transactions recording will be introduced in a new Cash Centre equipped in accordance with European standards, with state-of-art safety technologies. In addition, the process of provision of the economy with banknotes, withdrawal of outdated and counterfeited money from circulation will be sophisticated nationwide, working conditions of the staff engaged in cash transactions will improve to a maximum extent possible.
In CIS Georgia is the first country to build a Cash centre equipped with state-of-art technologies. We are taking consistent steps to transform Tbilisi into financial centre of the Region. To this end we have implemented numberless institutional reforms. To successfully implement the reforms high-tech infrastructure is necessary to enable financial sector, the banks to work properly, without barriers and complicated procedures. It is essential that technological hardware that the new Cash centre will be equipped with minimizes the risks of existence of worn-out or counterfeited banknotes in the circulation” – stated the NBG’s President, Mr. Giorgi Kadagidze.
NBG’s new Cash Centre is being constructed in Tbilisi on Kakheti Highway and is planned to be completed by year 2012.
