New Book Presentation at the Bank

On June 6, a presentation of a new book ‘Transition Economies and European Integration’ by Ambrosi Grishikashvili, the staff member of the Public Relations Department, the candidate of economic sciences, was held at the National Bank, attended by the representatives of economic and scientific circles. Roman Gotsiridze, President of the National Bank, welcomed the audience and indicated that there are only a few economic monographs today, so each new publication is important for the development of the country’s scientific potential. The scientists indicated that the author uses the example of CIS countries, EU new member states (10) and traditional EU member countries (15) to study the main trends and directions of economic development. The author also describes national economies and compares them with the relevant data on Georgia. Then the author presents his findings on what ways and methods should be used by a country to reach the level of development that will eliminate the obstacles hindering the EU integration. On the basis of the economic indicators of the above countries, the author studies the macroeconomic problems such as unemployment, inflation, GDP production data and their movements, interrelation of national currencies and inflation, interest rates and their impact on economic progress, etc. The book by Ambrosi Grishikashvili ‘Transition Economies and European Integration’ was published at the author’s expense and with the assistance of the Publishing House of Tbilisi Social Economic Institute .
