NBG welcomes the Delegation of Bahrain
Koba Gvenetadze, Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, and Vice Governor Papuna Lezhava were pleased to welcome Mohamed Jassim Buzizi, Managing Director of Bahrain Air Transport & Tourism Associates (ATTA), Farouk Yousuf Almoayyed, Chairman of the Gulf Hotels Group, and Garfield Jones, Chief Executive Officer of the Gulf Hotels Group, at the NBG Headquarters today.
Koba Gvenetadze briefed the representatives of the Bahraini delegation on the status of the country's financial sector and the important reforms implemented by the National Bank of Georgia. He also spoke about the actions taken to ensure the resilience of the Georgian financial system to the shock caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The parties discussed prospects for future cooperation between the financial sectors of Georgia and Bahrain.
Gulf Hotels, one of Bahrain's major tourist holdings, operates hotels in Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, Tanzania and Zanzibar. During the visit, the delegation will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Gino Holding, to confirm that the Group will officially enter the Georgian market and take over the management of a 4-star hotel, publicly known as the Gino Holding property.
